i have no sump, it's a direct hang on to the tank. i stuffed coarse n fine sponge to the output reservoir of the skimmer. reduced the flow to humanely minimal. still occasional huge bubble and some micro bubbles. the bubble trap in the skimmer dun even seem to work!

The bubble trap doesn't really seem to work. I find lots of bubbles entering the maintank even after turning the flow down to a minimum.

Does your model come with a filter media basket? I placed filter wool into the basket, seems to help quite alot but still have very very small amounts of microbubbles entering the tank. Think i'm going to pack somemore wool into the basket to see if its going to eliminate the bubbles. I clean the wool every week to prevent choking and overflowing of the chamber.

the air input was attached to the fitting at the top piece as per manufacturer's instruction. tried the media basket too. too many bubbles. in the end i skipped the media basket n stuffed the media direct into the chamber. it seems to work after a while when air pockets are being trapped in the media. now, i rarely see micro bubbles, only occasional large bubbles which is not of an issue as they float to the surface rather quickly.

I am now looking for long term, maintainence free solutions.

thx
