Isn't it a lot of work? I got these Ocean Nutrition frozen food.. had so much trouble breaking it up.. because of the gel binding, it doesn't thaw. Its just like a piece of rubber. I had to use a fork to press and smash it up.. and still there are big pieces.

In the end I haven't even used half of the 2 packets and I threw it away.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

I recently just bought 1 slab of the Formula 1.

Quite honestly, i used a couple of cubes, and i think that's about all i'll ever feed my fish/corals.

Easy to thaw, but extremely hard to feed. Coz have to manually 'break the gel', I tried to feed some to my fungi, it did tried to swallow it, but guess what, after 30mins, i see it spat out the food... But of coz, the other fish do eat it. But sparingly.

The 2 other food mix that im using are Henry's (since 3 months back) and RX Gan's (just used since 19 Apr). Both are easier to thaw and feed...

Try Henry's or RX Gan's... Both are good in their own way... but pls have a good skimmer. Coz i normally flood the tank after thawing...

For Ocean Nutrition, i think it's better to stick to their pellets... less messy. (I'm a long-time user of Forumla 2 pellets)

Just my 2 cents, again, i'm not the best critic.

To me if you ever want less hassle, go buy few kinds of frozen food (eg, mysis, brine, daphenia, rotifer, cyclopeze, etc). Mix them up with few other kinds of liquid coral food and put it back in fridge. Feed as normal. I do that for Henry fish food mix (even though it has almost everything).. add those I mentioned, even enforce abit more spirulina powder and garlic drips.

BTW initially when I first used Ocean Nutrition frozen, didn't know and I placed the whole cube in tank.. Only few fishes pecked on it abit. The cube just sank to the sandbed and thats it. The gel binding thing really binds.. the cube was there till the second day, only very slowly breaking up.

Oh yah.. funny thing is if the ON frozen and flake contain the same ingredients, then why the fishes prefer the flake more? In fact they really love the flake. Dun LSs prefer frozen feed more? Not to mention the fresh food smell which LSs love.

haha..quite true. i see their ingredients have lobsters and scallop..blah blah blah..but one cube they put in some much gel binder. if we calculate the ratio of gel binder in one cube, i dun think there will be much food also. still prefer their pellets and flakes, undeniably good. :D
