suggestions to rid big bad pods

i did catch these pods, abt 5-7mm big, at night they appears to be munching on my zoas.. either that, or they are irritating them real bad..

any ID for these guys? and most importantly..

any suggestions to get rid of these guys.. any livestocks to eat them?

pls dun suggest yellow wrasse or sixline.. bad enough experiences with them..

Not sure if its the same. I had tons of them in my old tank.. I think I still have them in my new setup coz I brought over some rocks. Are they mostly white? And they come out only at night. If you see them in the day, they are probably died or half-died floating on a dead spot on the water surface. They propergate really fast. Try get up really late and turn on a torch.. you might see much much more, usually on rocks. They don't seem to affect any corals.. or maybe I mainly have mushies. I would also like to know what eats them..

u are right bro arcanehacker, if u see them in the day, they're either dead or dying haha..

they are brown, with long bodies, they resembles cockroaches..

and yes, they are nocturnal, scrawling all over a particular big rock at night..

they dun affect my mushrooms, but i think they are affecting some of my zoas, never fail to see 1 or 2 picking at my zoa polyps..

i'm thinking of putting a prawn meat in a net and leave it on the rock, den haul the net up in the middle of the night, that should catch quite a number of them.. will put it into test tonight, and update if it works..

If I'm not wrong, they are the amipods, the bigger brother of copepods. Well, I don't know whether they eat zoas or not... but I also have plenty in my tank. Here's some reading

i used to have them in my old tank but nv had a problem with them until recently in my new tank..

i guess they could be picking off dead polyps of zoas which didn't make it during my transfer..

i'll continue to monitor them closely.. cheers.. :)

should be making any noise. i have those in my tank as well. my pair of mandrain always hurt for them. IMO its safe and a good food source.

ehh.. maybe the click click noise is a little pistol.. hehe. Trust me, you never know. I was transferring stuff and clearing my old tank when I found a little pistol. I didn't even know I had or bought any pistol before.

if u hear click click noises, it could either be a pistol shrimp, or ur turbo snails 'adjusting' their shells or some sort..

i've seen some of my turbos will jerk their shells, and when knocked against the glass produces a click click sound.. very much like a pistol shrimp..
