Need help on ozoniser

Recommended Posts

Hi any bro can help mi on this. Hve bought a ozoniser for my marine tank. Wht is the standard adjustment to set the ozoniser and aslo how hours a day to operate it. Is it nescessary to get a orp monitor and aslo wht is the standard orp reading in a tank for 400l. Thks

Bro,

A orp controller is preferred. If the value is too high and if left unmonitor or controlled i.e if without a controller, it may cause harm to your live stock. Set the ORP to 400 or lesser.

if u do not control the orp , the ozoniser can wipe out your tank

ozonizer will not wipe out the LS if its used properly... even if its unmonitored. All you need to do is:

- Make sure you do not let the water output go directly into your main tank. Be good to have the output go through some form of activated carbon.

- Good to aerate the ozone output via a protein skimmer the output to activated carbon.. best scenario.

- Do not have a controller? Then lower the ozonizer output. Not sure if other brands can do that but the Sanders one can. Always better to under-dose then over-dose if you are not sure.

BTW with Ozonizer making ORP going over 400 doesn't mean its bad.. if the water before ozonizer input is already 400+, with ozonizer, it will surely increase but it doesn't mean the ozone will kill anything. Ozone used properly will not kill lifestock even if it means ORP reaching 450+.. My ORP occasionally reaches 430+ and it is still the same.

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

"Its easier to blame the 'mantis' or crabs in the tank for missing & dead livestocks.."
