SRC Member vt_snowman87 Posted March 16, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted March 16, 2008 mushrooms detaching from rocks could be due to too high flow, or insufficient lighting in my opinion.. from my experiences with them, they like to move around to find a optimum location.. if not, they just detach and float away in search of a better location.. just my opinion from my experiences, no hard facts as proof though.. LPS like moderate flow, but not so much that the coral looks as if its being torn off its rock. Try and move it to an area with less direct flow if you can. SRC Member zipp86 Posted March 27, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted March 27, 2008 bubble coming out of rock is not good sign, check the flow, water, and lighting parameters
SRC Member kareen Posted March 28, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted March 28, 2008 sound like too high flow for their liking and parameters should be ok if they do open out... if repositioning is difficult [i know ], u can tilted the wavemaker upwards or aim the direct flow towards the wall... the last one will be to have a lower rating wavemaker... BTW, what is your wavemaker rating? I'm just using a K1 to service the 2' width of my tank nicely... Do you see that my feather head is all tilted?
