Hi guys, my tank is 5.5ft by 2ft by 2ft.

using tecoRA680, just running on T5, fish-only tank.

i am using a 6500l/hr return.

at first i channel the return to chiller, it takes a long time to chill. output to main tank

then i try channeling a t-off from my denitrator pump to my chiller, should be around 1000l/hr around or lesser.

the output is to the sump.

still take a long time to chill.

fear that if i do a piping out to main tank from the 1000l/hr pump, the water might not be strong enough to pump up.

and the recommended flow rate is 300 to 400l/hr only.

Any user of this chiller ? can advise me on how you make the most out of it ?

thanks. the output water is cold and should i try to service it ?

thanks.

Hi bro,

I have used RA680 before and I remembered it took 2 hours when initially set up cuz it need to bring my tank temperature down several degrees. However, subsequently it ran about 45mins to 1hr everytime it kick in. Is this considered 'long' for you?

I find that I get the best out of this chiller when using a pump that is 2000 - 3000 l/hr

I was taught an easy way to determine whether you chiller is working is to feel the air exiting the chiller, if it is not warm (37 - 42 degree C) then its time for you to call for service.

thanks thanks thanks bro. :)

cos mine took the whole day to chill down.

but now i took out the cover and fix a fan to it, it works much better.

think maybe will try a higher flow rate pump next to test it out.

45 to one hour is good enough. haha. aiming for that. ;)

THANKS for all the advise.
