A pic of the Bigfin Reef Squid (Sepioteuthis lessoniana)

Bigfin Reef Squid, Sepioteuthis lessoniana, are a common species of inshore squid. Like other members of the genus Sepioteuthis, these squid are sometimes mistaken for cuttlefish due to the large fin that surrounds their mantle; the “Sepio†in their scientific name refers to their cuttlefish like appearance.

Back to the Jellyfish displays....

There are 12 known species of the genus Catostylus but I could not find a match for this specimen labeled Catostylus sp. There are very few images for this genus other than the edible and common Blubber Jellyfish (Catostylus mosaicus), Catostylus purpurus and the Catostylus townsendi. The base of the multicoloured jellies in the pic is different than C. mosaicus and C. townsendi.

I am guessing they are Catostylus purpurus....
