Live rocks in sump

Hi,

I've been thinking of increasing the live rocks in my tank but no space. Any idea if I can put them in my sump?? I've got no lights or whatsoever in my sump...in a cabinet, so will be in the dark most of the time...will they do fine???

i hav LR in my sump last time w/o lights too....

Yeah it shouldn't do any harm if the LRs have no or litle algae on them.. Think it might aid in your berlin system as well..

But of course it would help if you install lights within your sump and house algae in them.. Create a refugium!!

thanks for the advice! Been thinking of starting a refugium too but sump not really designed for it...will probably just pile more LR in my sump to help in the bio filtration....besides, adding lights in my cabinet will heat up my water more..already having a fairly tough time maintaining water below 27 deg...running on fan with my MH
