I just bought a 2nd hand Octopus NW 110. When I plug it to the needle wheel pump, I notice the flow of the bubble is few and big. Unlike my Macro, there is alot of bubble. Please advise what can be done to improve the bubbles? Is it the pump is faulty?

HI Bro

Check the air intake whether choked. Have a friend having the same issue and found the air intake is choked.

Air intake since to be ok because when I covered it there isn't any bubble but when I released it, out go some big bubble.

Hi bro,

I may be due to oil and dust accumulated on the reaction chamber during storage. If this is the case, the skimmer will function after it have break-in.

HTH ;)

bro , i still suspect the air intake got choked with dirt or calcium calcification ( this is a used skimmer right ), covering the air intake alone is not enough, did u checked the part where the tube connects to the pump because thats where the choked normally happen for this type of problem...

hi, it happened to me before. what i did..

try using a toothpick or somrthing similar of size/thickness and poke into the air intake from the pipe after removing the airtube. i'm refering to the knob coming out of the pipe whereby your air tube is attached to. give it a good scrape all around. this will clear it of debris/aglae/calcification bulidup which is causing your reduced air intake.

otherwise check your pump and impeller again. something could be broken.

cheers.
