Qs on Ventilation Fan @ Side of Cupboard

Recommended Posts

Hi all, my cabinet tank is currently being built, and i want to include at the side of the cabinet where the chiller would be. This is to ensure that the chiller doesn't warm up the interior so much that it ends up having to work more as a result of the water passing through the sump being heated up.

I was wondering if any of you have done similar things before, and advice on the types fan, installation etc. My tank maker has told me that they do not supply fans, but they just need the location and dimensions of the fan so that they can cut the cupboard before delivery. Thanks in advance :)

Hi bro,

You can try KDK 15WHPA Ventilation fan, check out www.kdk.com.sg for further information.

Hey bro Gouldian, thanks for the reply. I was wondering if the above fan would be an overkill, and if a relatively big computer fan would suffice. Thanks!

you can haunt for KDK or similar fans at shops around kelantan lane. those shops below the hdb flats. saw many different sizes, generally, those fans are for extraction of air rather than blowing. so getting a bigger house power is alright.

you can get those computer fans from sim lim tower as well. lots of models, would advise you to get those from japan. they are longer lasting. i got mine from there and so far have serve me well.

Hi bro,

Don't think its an overkill cuz the wattage is quite low. The good think about using KDK is the reliability of the fan motor. I have used Nidec computer fan in my old set-up find it quite alright but need to connect to Adaptor.

I guess ppl who conceal chiller basically do that for asthetic reason, so KDK fan will look ugly installed a cabinet.

Computer fan can be used but you will have to get numerous fan, with a combine CFM that match that of chiller. Better ones are available but price will exceed KDK ones.
