Hi reefers,

Any recommendations for a protein skimmer that is suitable for a total volume of a 4x2x2.5 feet main tank + a 2 feet sump?

Protein skimmer + a suitable pump

- Minimum noise, best is no noise if cabinet door is closed coz it will be inside the cabinet. Insump or outsump.

- produce minimum heat

- affordable, i dont mind 2nd hand set.

Thanks!

I have a Macro KS300P for sale, very new condition. $75 negotiable. Noise low bubbles very fine, pump uses needlewheel technology like most expensive skimmers. See pics, whitish stains u see are just dried calcium powder can easily wash off. Collection cup even has a valve u could uncap and attach to a waste collector.

Pump only 31watts consumption

Height 550mm by width 260mm(including pump attached)

Btw i have been using a 2011 for the first year of my reefing experience these past 4yrs, verdict is u get wet skimmate mostly n sometimes have to retune cos the neck is short and narrow. Dry skimmate takes days b4 u see any as compared to better skimmers. Also a 2011 is undersized for ur tank. 2013 is recommended.
