i've been stopping dosing my 4ft for maybe 6mths as what goondoo said once it mature it live inside the tank within and spread if there's room if not die once too packed

but if u do a large amonut of water change better follow the traditional way dose cause of new salt mix normally will kill the bacteria unlike NSW

it is best to achieve equilibrium in your reef. After all, you are building a mini ecological system that should sustain itself.

If you are leveraging on bacteria dosage to maintain your tank equilibirum, then either you are over stocking/ over feeding or you tank has a lack of LR to colonise bacteria. OR maybe you are dosing without knowing if it actually helping you with anything. Sometimes, we do things to be on the safe side.

bacteria dosage to me is for starting of new tank, emergency situations, having rotting carcass in the tank which are unretrievable, in situations where there is a spike in ammoni/ nitrite/ nitrate level etc etc.
