Help! Zoas not opening up!?

I dipped 2 zoa frags in Lugol's solution yesterday evening, and they are half opened today. I hope they are on the road to recovery. What should I do to buffer the Ph of the distilled water (for the dip) so as not to shock my corals? Do I have to dip everything in my tank to ensure that they are free from zoa eating pests? I've read that some reefers fight these things for a month or so. Makes me want to perform 100% treatment of all corals and rocks, but I fear it might be over-doing and killing what is good. Any advice?

I found these in my filter wool today. Had the luxury of taking pics under a microscope. These guys were the ones that jumped off my zoas when I performed the Lugol's solution dip. I was told they are copepods... can anyone comfirm? Also, will they be harmful to zoas?

I don't think they're harmful, I believe they are pods, specifically which type, I am not sure. I have a tankfully of them but they just scurry around. Some can get rather big, about 0.5cm and red in colour :)

Yeah.... maybe it's bcos I shocked them by placing too near the light source when i bring them back.............

Thanks for your advice.... going Auntie there later in the afternoon. get another piece to try..... :eyebrow:

i bought my zoa one week ago, no problem..opens up whenever i switch on my lights.

And they are on the mid-level of my tank.

My zoa is size of my hand.

I think they like moderate currents and dun place them near to corals that stings.

And i feed them with phyplankton from reefmax everyday.
