Hi to all experience reefers familiar with DC795,

A friend of mine been using it for his new 6 footer. 2 weeks plus liao and yet it seem soft to the touch!

Can any experts out there advice on this? Should it be left longer before water is filled cos worry it might giveway.

2 weeks is short! DC literature says something like 70 or 80% strength after 21 days.....should leave it for longer to cure before adding water. Mine feels just about right......

Thanks alot marinebetta for your reply.

That was what we thought but no idea how long more should we leave it to dry, or whether it is soft to the touch even though its already dried. My friend said the supplier mentioned that it will turn very hard compared to normal sealant over time.

Hope more experienced experts can contribute some advice.

It will be alarmingly soft for a while. Even a cleaning magnet may take off some silicon if you're not careful.

But I guess you can take a look at Aquatechnic tanks that have been using 795 for 15 years and still solid as rock.
