The numbers of many large shark species have declined by more than half due to increased demand for shark fins and meat, recreational shark fisheries, as well as tuna and swordfish fisheries, where millions of sharks are taken as bycatch each year. Now, the global status of large sharks has been assessed by the World Conservation Union.

Dear fellow reefers,

We are all marine lovers.

Pls stop eating sharkfins soup and help to spread the word around, esp during chinese dining sessions. Already, l can see many diners gradually refusing this cruel dish and replacing by mock sharkfins (taste the same anyway) or other soups.

And for those getting married soon, pls take this dish off the menu.

Only when demand drops, supply (targeted killing) will drop.
