SRC Member kelstorm Posted February 12, 2008 SRC Member Share Posted February 12, 2008 it is a pity that such a good docu-movie but had so little publicity and viewing pax.. when i watch that show, i think no more than 20 pax was there.. Yes, the MD of the rabbit brand was really a joke. But his comments while farnie, does little to stop shark finning but instead, encourage shark finning. Those who dive will wring in disgust when they show footage of sharks being finned and even caught a whale shark... Divers will noe that there had been lesser sighting of sharks and turtles in the oceans compared to yrs ago. It is really such a pity. I seriously encourage ppl to watch it and find out where did majority of our oxygen come from and how removing the apex predators in the food catch will affect us in the long run. Stop taking sharks fins soup. they are tasteless and had the same molecular structure as ur nails and hair. The fragance from the soup comes from the soup stock and chicken broth. I did my share by stop eating shark fins soup, u can too. Quote Let us work together to preserve the world for our children to inherit by being responsible to our surroundings. I think large banquet like wedding dinner is one of the main consumer of shark fin, just imagine how many sharks gotta be tortured and killed in just a single banquet of 20-30 tables? That's why I make it a point to my gf that we must not serve any sharkfin in our future wedding dinner..I think anyone getting married soon should consider doing that too.. Mine went thru without the soup and i replaced it with Lobster Bisque instead. Have to top up a bit but i dun mind. u should seriously consider this. Make a stand. I did and place a little card stating the reason for not offering sharks fins on each table. I rem attending one wedding dinner and the whole table just told the waiter to keep the bowl and dun hv to serve coz the whole table are not taking it... yes.. all of us are divers.
