My johnsoni pair is officially over!

After keeping it for so long, the female found an opportunity to change sex when her male counterpart was harassed by one other fish in the tank. The male became weak and the female seize chance and morphed to take over the male as a dominant male. So i ended up with two male johnsoni, one alpha male and one submale. The submale growing aggressive over time and keeps exerting dominance over the alpha male so i have no choice but to sell the submale.

And now i m left with jux one male johnsoni and it is residing in a smaller 2 feet setup. Very hard to take pic as the tank is dim and the fishes hide pretty quickly.

This fish need no verification. In fact there are only two in the hobbyist world now. It is caught only by submarine at depth approaching 600ft.

No deep pocket but big courage yes because I still couldn't get it to start eating.

Not much of an update. No new additions for quite a while. A few fishes suppose to come in but all did not happen in the end.

Here are the four old residents of the nano tank

Lipogramma Sp. This fish has now started to eat a greater variety of food like mysis, brine, flakes. It is doing great and remains the most showy fish of the tank. This fish will remain one of the rarest fish in the world for a long time to come.

Plectranthias Pelicieri. V greedy fish, super hardy and gorgeous. Eat like a champ since day one. Highly recommended fish for all reefers, easily available through Iwarna for those interested.

Johnsoni fairy wrasse alpha male. Biggest and oldest fish. The supply of this fish has trickled down to very small number, in fact in the states now it is even easier to get an earlei fairy wrasse than to obtain a johnsoni.

Liopropoma Africanum. One of the rarer basslet you can keep if u prefer something unusual. Second oldest resident in the tank. Very hardy but a bit cryptic. Shy and quite hard to photograph.
