Hi,

my anemone got caught and was shredded by my powerhead and had fouled up the whole tank. I had already tried to clean up the bits and pieces of it and done a 50% water change. The milkyness had cleared but my nitrate level is still high at about 40. Should I be changing more water. do a total change or just let it be and wait for the nitrate level to drop. Most of the corals seem to be doing fine but i am still worried.

Please can someone advise

thanks!!!

alternatively u can also help by introducing more macroalgae in refugium to let in absorbed the nitrates or introducing zeolites in ur filtration system to bring down the ammonia further.aso throw away ur filter sponges or other filtration media.it works 4 me...

yah...i have already change the filter sponges.have tot of removing the LS, the fishes are easy to remove and some of the corals also can...but i am worried about the other anemones and the carpet cos i am pretty sure that they might not be able to survive that. actually they all look pretty fine except for the elegant which is not really opening up but i am not reallu sure cos i just bought it 2 days ago...

it's really annoying!!! :(
