Normally 10% per week will sufficient... That depends on your nutrients level, such as NO3 and PO4... If the nutrient level is very high, more frequent and higher volume of water change will be required...

instead of sticking to just exactly 14L, why not change more. It does wonders to your tank. Get a jerry can of abt 20-25L. in fact, get two. one to mix the water, the other, to drain the water.

may i know where to buy jerry can? i remember jerry can in the army has a small hole which may makes it difficult to do the stiring..lol...

i think u meant DSB? it means deep sand bed.. similarly SSB means shallow sand bed..
