people usually have bubbles inside the skimmer,

i find that having bubbles will cause a lot of salt spray

when the bubbles burst, causing a lot of salt creep.

if you are worried about aeration,

then break the calmness of the water surface,

with the water current you mentioned.

it will be ok

izzit necessary to creat bubble inside marine tank? i mena bubble mean air pump???

yes it is important to create current within the tank(referred to as water circulation).....but by using airstones for a home aquaria would be the only way to do it in the 70's.

We now have powerheads and much more advance circulation pumps (tunze range of streams/reetecs/seaswirls)

Oxygen will only enter the tank if the water surface tension is broken. So if you're thinking of using powerheads or whatever Tunzes, make sure it creates surface agitation.

Having current inside the tank without surface agiatation will NOT give you oxygen, as the latter cannot enter the water due to surface tension. :)

By the way, a lot of people have this misunderstanding that the bubbles created using airpumps is oxygen or air for that matter. It is not. The 'bubbles' travel up to the surface of water, 'burst' up there, breaking the surface tension...then oxygen comes in, CO2 exits. Thats the reason why ppl dun normally use the air bubble thingy inside planted tanks also. :D

On the other hand, bubbles created inside venturi skimmers do carry oxygen...as it is 'premixed' with air ma

i now set my current on top of the water surface... about 4cm below the water surface.. is this will do ?

erm...can't really see clearly.

it doesn't matter where you place your powerhead...what matters is this: do you see the surface of the water moving fast? if yes, then it shld be fine. I do that with my Maxijet, pointing the outlet of the powerhead at an angle towards the surface... :)
