Catching Fishes

Try this. Anchor a ziploc bag to a small rock inside the bag. Open it wide and stuff the favourite food of the fish or fishes you wanna catch. Be patient to let the fish go into the ziploc bag on its own. If u are not patient this method won't work. Make sure the food is stuffed right in the deep end of the bag.Of course u can have some food at the mouth of the bag to trail or fool the fish to go deeper. Once the fish is busy eating, grab the mouth of the bag and close it and pull the whole bag out of the water. Remember be patient I repeat that this will not work if u are not patient cos some intelligent fishes remember if u fail to catch it at first attempt. Once it remembers u are only left with major rescaping and removing your rocks and corals. Now certain fishes will go in within five minutes but some will wait for as long as 2 hours so as I said and I say again be patient.

I have caught wrasses, purple and yellow tangs and flame angels with this method so try it and good luck.

You buy a fish trap box with a drop-down door. Feed your fishes through that and they will go in after a few days willingly, then voila!

If not a tamban hook works best, especially for fast moving fishes without beak mouths like tangs.

Yup.... tanbam hook the best for me but may sound cruel to fish ur reef fish outta of the tank. I have used the hook method and caught 4 fishes at 4 interval tries. all fishes caught are exactly wat I wanted them to be out :eyebrow:

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably give them a try. As for tamban hooks, thats not a problem as I have a arsenal of fishing tackle. :eyebrow: I wouldn't mind send anyone two by snail mail if you need them. Anyway, i find it hard to catch a particular tomato clown, but he's big enough to be hook up ;) but I will try the other less drastic method first.

Anyway anyone wants a tomato clown and a Ocellaris clownfish ( false Percula clownfish )?

Bro, wake up earlier in the morning before sunrise. Straight away "on" your aquarium lighting, at this moment, all the fishes are "blind" and their "blindness" was last approx 10 minutes and this is the best time to catch them. This method never failed me from catching fishes without disturbing my tank landscape. Give a try... Cheers!!
