It's a humble 2 feet tank, am thinking of upgrading to a Prizm Skimmer with surface skimmer attachment, is it too big for my tank? hear from some sources that i dun need such a good skimmer, but i somehow think otherwise...can somebody advice? Thanks! :)

I am using a Prizm Skimmer.

I have a 2 ft tank too.

This is my personal view on the Prizm Skimmer, it is easy to use and it saves space.

However, it never produce any of the kopi-o that I see from the weipro skimmer. (ever after 2 wks)

I'm using the that too. I think u got to adjust the flow rate. I think i open the valve slightly to allow minimum water and the result is good. For instance, whenever i buy new LR or fish die. The skimmer will produce thick semen and lots of bubble.

The minus point is, i think it only support up to 3 ft tank.

Thats not the case, a skimmer working correctly should always produce kopi. not unles your fish dont poo, dont pee and nothing dies and dont feed (just water). I had a 2ft tank on the turbo skimmer and it still produce thick kopi. Now I am using a 65gallon tank with a weipro 2013 and only 7 fishes, it produced thick kopi everyday. I just think you have to tweak it correctly to get the setting.

From what I have read and according to other reefers who'd had the skimmer, the setting of the prizm is difficult and requires frequent tweaking to get it working efficiently. Especially when used directly in tank as the water level can affect the setting.

The skimmer will work extra hard when new live rock or live stock is added due to the increase bio load. But even when none is introduced, it should still produce kopi.

The Prizm Pro can support up to 150 gallon tank (5ft)

Bottom line is looks good, cheap considering competion just have to get it rite. So I choose the less troublesome and very cheap option - weipro. Plus in sump so look not that important. :P

The problem is when I increase the water flow, it is skimming nothing but saltwater.

When I decrease the water flow, the bubble does not even reach the top.

So far, what I have been achieving so far and thick green stuff within the internal level of the collection cup.

However, what I must say it that it is better than not having a skimmer because I have lesser problem with diatom.
