your output of your denitrator should be ZERO to claim that it is "Functional"..otherwise, how can your main tank NO3 to get low?

IMO, If it is non-zero..then I suggest you should let your denitrator to "KICK-IN" before proceeding...Wait for a 2-3 day..do the measurement again.

no problem..just follow the procedure.

1.)Let the start feeding the unit till it start dripping then shut the output for 1~3 days..and stop feeding water to unit

(pls ensure your unit do not "back-siphon" to your sump)

2) after 1~3 days...start the unit and adjust drip-rate at 1 drop per sec... after 1~3 minutes..measure your NO3..it should be zero..

3) otherwise repeat step (1)..
