Feeding duration..

Hi Bros, as most of us do, will switch off the main pumps when feeding the corals..So my question is, for how long do we need to off the pump?? 30min??

It all depend on what you are feeding

I think if you are feeding live brine shrimp you SHOULD switch off the main pump... Or else most of them might get trapped inside the filter media, rot there, and cause serious water condition problems..

Besides, the LS wouldn't get much of the food if they all flow towards the filter media as well..

I dont switch off my filter.

What I usually do is thaw my brine shrimp in a container and use pipette to slowly feed my fishes. I will only add more food when all the food have been eaten. No chance for the food to reach the filter.

I only switch off my filter and skimmer for an hour when I feed snow plankton.
