Deep sand bed refugium

will a remote Deep sand bed(9") with refugium works? Around 9 inches in height and plant a refugium om it.

You can use a salt pail and make a mega remote DSB.

but the thing is DSB need good flow of water at the top....but if chaetos is placed on top of DSB as refugium....will it hinder the flow of water ? and also the lightings for chaetos....will it affects the DSB?

If due to space constraint, then its okay loh.

The point of having flow on top of the DSB is to avoid food particles etc to settle on the top, but....its okay... as long got flow, can liao.
