anyone got convert CR aquarium PL hoods to T5? i am thinking of squeezing 2 T5 into my hood but dunno got enough space anot.

I just noticed that my PL hood has the pinholes at ONE SIDE ONLY!!!!!

It's impossible to convert PL hood to T5 hood without any modifications... simply because the two types of bulbs are completely different and are driven by different e-ballasts...

Just DIY a bit loh

you cannot use CR ballast for T5 ...totally different types....even in the case that you can do it..your t5 tubes will get damaged faster than using a proper t5 ballast...

not worth it...t5 tubes are expensive..use a proper ballast please

Hi can some kind people out there post some pic between T5 and PL .. My FL just fuse yesterday and now i dont know which light should i go . T5 or PL .. i want to buy the whole set which means hood plus tubes . I do not have corals nor clams .But i want a bright and cear light .. Can PL do the job for me.. I am confussed between T5 and PL .. Why the pins are different?/?/? ADVICE pLS thanks

Yah good choice for those normal hard or soft coral (except SPS). My 3 x 2 x 2 ft. tank currently using self-made T5 39W HO with 4 x white and 1 blue all connected to electronics ballast doing extremely fine for bubble, hammer, mushroom, coco, tube, sea fan, star and yellow poly, tube anem coral with photo. for at mini 8 hrs. But remember to replaced the tube every 8 to 9 months. Check it on on Member tank & spec. section. (Not that great but reasonable).

Actually, I waited for more than 2 months liao. Saw on Ean website that they will be in by Feb. Dun know if its true.
