Help Needed!!!!

Recommended Posts

I've a royal dottyback for around 2 months. During this 2 months, it always come out in the morning for food without fail. But today, it has disappeared into the thin air. I can't find it at all. I've tried all means to locate it but still can't. I even put food to lure it out of the live rock but still no signs of it. I tokk out the rock that it used to hide but not inside. Does anyone has any idea what might have happen to it? If is dead, at least you can still see the body... but in this case is nothing at all..... :cry2:

Yes yes... pls do check your pumps and powerheads and filter and EVERYTHING within your tank...

Here's my story.. I kept a strawberry gamma awhile back.. one day it suddenly disappeared and I thought it died and was eaten by scavengers..

BUT

One day while doing a massive cleanup of my tank I took out my internal filter (Cause my FOWLR tank in a small one compared to my reef tank which has an external filter) and fould my little strawberry gamma hiding in between the small small tiny gap in between the internal filter and my tank wall!!! It hid there (or was trapped) for like weeks and I never once saw it!!

After I let it out, it swam around my tank for awhile and chose to hide in the same place again..

Yup.. so IMO anything can happen.. So.. do look around before you give up.. :) Good luck, though..

I have a bi-colour benny that suddenly died for no reason but at least I manage to find it body (only bones and fin).

I was told by LFS that crab could be the cultprit and I did see a few crabs in my tank too.

However, I dont think crab are that dangerous because so far my other fishes are ok. It can only attack fishes that like to hide in hole. My bi-colour goes into any holes that it can find.

Anyway, you can use the crab trap...that was invented by a fellow hobbist.

DA your anthias MIA already

nah when they MIA, in the end they always appear but take some time...

Anyway my fish understand me very well, so when they die, they will die in a spot that i could see clearly..... WEIRD.... probably don'y wanna let me waste effort in finding them
