assexual? how we know?

? When they are growing normally it is called asexual growth as they are propagating via rhizomes. When they start turning white, it is a sign of sexual reproduction as they have expended all their energy into forming gametes.

Always something more important than fish.

Yeap it is the smelly smell cynobacteria..

Should remove it physically or it might be really unsightly..

Oh by the way I think black sea urchins eat cynobac.. had them in my tank and once they were added my clynobac was gone.. Hmmm..

Guys may I know how you guys encourage coralline growth.. hehe sorry to hijack..

Not really bad for corals unless they get covered by cyano...If the cyano is doing this then your nutrient is very very high

And also corals don't do well in poor quality water

yaaa my NO3 quite high 20ppm now using refugium wth DSB to bring down the NO3...... hope it can work

and change 25% water weekly....

So what will happen if the macro algae go assexual...will it affect all the lifestock?

You mean going sexual..not asexual...hmmm..wonder why these 2 very different terms always get mixed up...is it a common misconception? :huh:
