A very long escalator leads visitors straight to the 8th floor... can feel that the aquarium is aging... from the tiles to the escalator... a bit late-80s :erm:

hey Jervis, pls posts more pics as I missed the visits to teh aquarium when i was at Osaka a month for tour. Nobody wants to join me for the visits there, further its a group tour :( Pics pics :lol:

Once reaches the 8th storey, the entire area is full of sunlight B) The skylight features the Japan Forest with water fall and freshwater creatures such as otters, giant salamanders and trouts :)

Next exhibit features the Aleutian Islands... a group of small islands extending to 2000km... severly cold with active valcanoes. The sea otters are quite cute and playful :P

What I did was... drop them at Universal Studios... cross the street to the ferry terminal, took a 10 min ferry to the Kaiyukan :)

I'm using Sony Alpha 100 DSLR. They came out with a newer Alpha 700 which costs 3 times more :shock:

Any of the popular Japanese brands will work well within that price range... I only go for Sony cameras so that the whole family can share the same memory cards. Those new face detection feature cameras are fun to have... the sensor will detect and chase the faces in the viewfinder :lol:
