Noise level from Skimmer

Just want to get a sensing of which skimmer gives out the least noise. Currently using a JoeP beckett as skimmer for my 4ft tank but finds that the noise level is abit on a high side as my tank is placed in my living room. Anyone who had used beckett and subsequently change to Hydor/ Deltec /ATI or other branded skimmer finds that their current noise level is lower then previous? Pls advise as I'm seriously considering to change my skimmer(Can't seems to find any thread on noise level for skimmer thus starting a new one). Thanks.

Becketts are notoriously noisy but fans won't mind them because they perform very well.

The other skimmers use technology which is mostly silent in nature.... so that should answer your question.

Beckette requires extreme strong pump with high wattage so noise level is high.The worst part is your SP bill, bro. Make a change and you notice the huge saving lol. Do consider a needle wheel which requires only lower wattage.Not necessary must go for angmoh ones , some china or local made one is extremely quiet too.
