There are a few hundred gobie species in the world... I am sure a lot of them can get along. ;) Territorial disputes is a factor not just among gobies but other fishes as well!

Just which kind are you thinking about?

Sometime, I think it just depends on luck. If you are lucky the 2 fishes can get along.

For example, Mandarin are suppose to be peaceful but when I try keeping 2 of them, they killed each other.

I have saw people keeping 2 blue tang, 2 powder blue tang, etc.

Forgot to add.

Personally, I feel that it will be good to keep a fish from each species so that there are more colour variation in the tank. (unless there is schooling requirement)

Keeping multiple fishes of the same type will use up the max bioload very fast.

You are wrong, no 2 mandarin will tolerate each other in the same tank.. Unless they are a pair, even so fight may still occur... believe me, mandarin fight are lethal and brutal

Wow.. your tank really quite amazing!!

I read in many different places different opinion..

Some people say fire gobies are territorial some say there's no problem keeping 2 or 3 together...

So like can I get 3 fire goby and expect them to live peacefully together?

Hope can get some advise.. I wanna keep a school of fire goby..

midas, bicolour, strawberry or fire. maybe 2-3 of these? I find gobies very fascinating

Base on your description, think you are mixing gobies with blenny and dottyback

Find out exactly what type of fishes you really want.

Putting different type of the same species is not really advisable for dottyback and blennies ... will depend on the species

3 firegobies? You can try..if you succeed you can tell me. I have tried. Ended up with 1 only. The sole survivor. MURDERER! <_<

As for mixing different species of gobies..just make sure each goby gets their own deserved space. :D

Always something more important than fish.
