JBJ auto top up or Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155

anyone using any of it? wanting to get either 1 and doing some research on auto top up. please see attached photo. if you using JBJ please take a look.

thats your above maximum level. minimum is when the float goes most downwards.

I never use floats in my tank but all floats the same concept.

I have an expensive sensor for placing outside the water tank but never use it since yrs.

when the float touches the base(the white plastic), the circuit will be connected and water will be added to your tank, once the float has no more connect with its base(the water level increases) then the pump will stop pumping water. Thus the base is your min. water level.

every float switch has different contact point and magnet built internally. some disconnect faster, some drag away for few mm before cut off. They varies too on amperage. Some 1 amp, some 2 amps,..... So depends how much your pump drawing current, which float switch is better reliability. Higher ampere rating float switch is better but as ampere rating is higher, the price will be higher and bulky too. Dont need to select so high ampere float switch as waste money.

For me, I prefer to diy myself. I will add a timer to prolong it so the water will go max to my required value. I will use a small little pump so flow is slow, can be control easily. I just dont like the pump on/off frequently within that float switch contact margin.

I have a DIY float switch DC autotop up and the tunze one.

The tunze one is good very reliable. Use it for about two years already. It is very accurate to ablout 1-2mm.

Float switch tend to be somehwat more unreliable though my DIY version seems to be working ok I have change a few sets of float switches already. Accuracy seem to be about 5mm. I am using the tunze metering pump because it uses 9/12VDC and I can run the whole thing off a DC adapter.

I think the JBJ one is fine too. Try to use the smallest pump you can use.

The biggest headache is the reliability of the float switch mount. Avoid suction cups if possible.

or the tunze version, i suppose will need a pump like the jbj to pump water out from reservoir into sump?

I'm using the Tunze Osmolator. No complaints and no suction cup involved.

I using JBJ for 2 years plus.So far no issue at all.

Very compact .Can just clip on the tank.

Tunze osmolator are the best regulator for water top up...

it's the best $$$ can buy... 1 of my unit is already 8yrs liao... no problems at all... but the metering pump for the topup has been changed 2 times in the last 8yrs... it's considered damn good as there's soo much back pressure from the 1 way check vavles and DI unit plus Kalk reactors....

just do it...100% satisfied..

tunze osmolater is the best, 2 years warrenty, and reports of ppl using up to 10 years is not unusual, uses a infra red sensor to add water, very accurate.

i was wondering wad type of feeding pump to use.
