Tunze 9005 DOC Skimmer

Hi,

I've been runningmy new tunze 9005 DOC skimmer for abt 48hrs now and it hasnt broken in yet

anyone any ideas??

the water level still quite far down the cup

I'm running a new system using the Zeo system.....

anyone any ideas??

Hi bro,

If I remember correctly, Tunze skimmer needs a minimum water height i.e. the external water level needs to reach the blue waving line indicated outside the skimmer box.

i've got the in sump kit where it allows the water level to be lower....

but somehow jsut not kicking in....

hi, does the bubble break once it reachs the top? And foam doesn't seem to build-up...if it is so...give it more time..

there is another thing about running in the skimmer....all air inlets have to be totally open...

i have opened all the air outlets....

but the foam doesnt come up the cup... it sort of stays halfway down...

but then again my system has nothing in it... so i dunno if its cause i have no livestock or its because the skimmer hasnt kicked in yet...

wats inside your tank now? sometimes when there are no impurities, the bubbles wun foam upwards.

Bro, your tank is still new. no impurities yet. You can start to introduce some fish in and after few days time, your skimmer foam will start to rise.

well... stupid zeo system giving me a huge diatom bloom now.........

Zeolite is new?

Better clean that diatom often or else it will infest to the whole tank.

Diatoms needs months to get rid.

I have a friend who had diatoms in his tank with new LR from LFS. As he only has few Fishes in 3ft tank, still OK. He cycled with fish for 9 months then all the diatoms start to go off. Maybe 9 months because he has so many fishes and the tank is located in the workshop, has lots of dust.

Dont worry about the diatom, it ll go once they system stabilises and with good skimmer it'll go in no time...And about the bacteria you buy them from LFS....i got those in small red bottles..forget the brand leow will find out and post later.

Found it. It's SALTWATER BIOZYME..It comes in a small red bottle with 8 grams of content...

You can consult the dealer that you purchase your Tunze. I am sure the dealer will be able to provide pro advice why your skimmer is not kicking it to expectation.

now i am getting hair algae on the walls...

it seems some of u are right, the zeo pple just told me to clear the hair algae... and not bother abt the diatoms...
