good sub for sixline

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

what would be a good substitute for sixline wrasse for parasite control?

the reason i didn't want a sixline is becoz i once had it and it became king of the hill.. bullying every other fish..

im looking at something peaceful and does parasite control like the 6line..

any suggestions please?

Hi bro,

If you don't mind something that will be slightly larger that your sixline, You can try the Radiant Wrasse.

Hi bro,

Green Wrasse is more affordable (+- 1 red note). But do note its eventual size.

icic, thanks guys!

btw the white belly wrasse doesn't eat parasites ah?

Hi bro,

Most Halichoeres sp. do consume some form of parasites in our tank but they are not the total solution towards parasite-free tank.

The best way to avoid parasites is through careful selection, quarantine, dips and manual removals.

By the way, what parasites are your worried about, maybe we can shore our 2 cents.

I think i committed a sin by buying another cleaner wrasse,

Luckily, its feeding on frozen mysis/brine as well.... phew...

white belly wrasse = attack those tiny tube worms, pecking on rocks.

WOW! its terrific! Usually its damn hard to get these cleaner wrasse to eat mysis. Sometimes these guys eats and later refused. After refusing for few days, they immigrate to heaven. Thats why I give up on them.

BTW you wanna sell your cleaner wrasse, LOL.

Hi Bro,

White spots appearing of fishes always = bad news. Some may be marine ich or velvet.

These cannot be eliminated by Halichoeres sp. wrasses.

What Halichoeres sp. have been known to consume are parasitic snails and crabs that may harm invertebrates.

Oic, Isopods are another menace. From my limited knowledge most wrasses and damsels consumed isopods once they left their host.
