Mixing Salt with Tap Water

Since I have a new tank and about to start cycling, can I immediately add salt with tap water and let it stand for a day or so before adding LR and begin cycling ?

Will the chlorine go away ?

Also any problems mixing 2 different brands of salt ?

I think you should use a dechlorinizer for a whole tank of water. However, if you are not using it then I think you should let your water sit longer.

I dont think there will be any problem mixing salts.
