Permit required for 5ft Tank?

Hi all especially those with large tank.... I guess many of you.

I'm planning a 5 x 2.5 x 2.5 ft with a 3ft sump tank in a 5 room HDB flat living area. With rocks and stuff will exceed 600kg....

Did you guys get a permit from HDB?

I'm putting it in the middle of the living area, meaning it will not be near any pillar or column...

Any advise?

I think OK if not remembered wrongly a reefer had pointed out. But to be sure, pls consult HDB. BTW there is no permit. Either allowable or illegal.

It just that my current tank too small to further add stuff to it or recreate.

Finally got chance to get a bigger tank since I moving house.

A5: HDB flats are designed with an imposed load of 150 kg/m2. This is a requirement under the Building Control Act and Regulations for residential occupancy class.

It is safe for residents to place most general household items, such as furniture, appliances, television, washing machine, refrigerator, piano, fitness equipment, etc, including common standard-sized fish tank/s in their flat as these items are not concentrated in one location and their weight will not affect the uniformly maximum distributed load of 150 kg/m2.

However, if you intend to place unusually heavy items (such as safe exceeding 150 kg or a large-breeding aquarium-size fish tank) that exceed the allowable weight or size limit, you must get approval from HDB before installing these items. You will need to submit your application to the HDB Branch Office managing your flat, stating the size, type, weight and location of the fish tank (see sample copy) . Alternatively, you can submit your application using the email facility.

Yeah, approval is not permit. Approval means like the home base registered business. Approval is one time approve. Permits must renew every year/few years.

Its advised to distribute the load off, to avoid those troublesome matters

The last time I sell stuff so loooong ago, cannot even remember what I sell liao, collected so much junk in this hobby. Cannot believe the stuff I have for a 40G Tank.

I guess MIA meant did not log on here for a while, I'm sure many reefer is around but just did not come in to contribute.

Sometime it does get boring in here...
