Looks like goinopora. Very difficult to keep in captivity. :peace:

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

hard to keep.. water condtion must be good

Water condition must be good??? That's not exactly true either.

I've read that nobody knows what condition they like to live in. Good water parameters from experience/advanced hobbyist also they mould and die.

I've read that they tend to thrive a little longer when the DOM (Dissolve Organic Matter) is high. That means you should not use Skimmer. But then again, to keep gonipora alive, you'll have to sacrifice the other corals. :(

Don't buy gonipora.

Yup advanced reefer could not keep them is mostly due to the fact that their tank are very properly skim thus has little or no dissolved organic matter which the goniopora need to survive.. So to have this coral, your tank should be under skim

Key Factor to their survival I think is food..... which we can't provide most of the time.

I have another specie of gonio which has been with me for 6yrs already and doing very well. It is more of a branch type and has grown from a single pc to multiple heads.

Morgan's tank is underskimmed... so that could account for his success.

From what I have read, there are various sub-spieces of the goni...

There is a species which many called the Jewel coral and this specimen seems to do well in reefs..... and you happen to be having that specimen.....

Jus can't seem to remember where I got this infor from....
