Good or Bad?

Recommended Posts

My tank has now been running for about 4 months and my corals are really growing fast. However there are some "worm" like things growing which seem to have come from nowhere! Anybody know what they are? And are they a good thing to have or Bad>\? If bad do I just pull them out?

Thanks.

hi yozzer.

i had this b4on my super sun coral. posted under lsp on how to remove it.

initially tried to pull it out but not easy. tried smashed it but grew back. than a friend of mine asked me to use stringe wit hot h20. spray at it and i did. so far so good. never see that "atpasia"(sorry not sure the spelling) again.

read in some books that if never remove asap it will grow/spread very fast and it will kill corals.

good luck.

try this homemade solution - this works for me. so you can try if you are ok with this to kill the pest.

Buy 1 lemon from NTUC? cut and juice it ( the rest of juice you can drink - makes good lemonade) get a syringe with needle (can try to get from family doctor) and then fill syringe with lemon juice then inject it into the aiptasia in the centre and then squeeze the lemon juice inside and then watch the aiptasia shrink from the lemon juice acid. This should kill the aiptasia. Be careful not to cut the aiptasia as apparantly even the smallest part of this pest can grow into a fully grown aiptasia later on.

There are other ways to destroy this - by getting fishes, prawns but so far this direct way works fastest for me.
