snail id please

need identification of this snail..found it in the sump of my old tank..but i did not add anything remotely looking like this into it intentionally....is it a harmful snail or not? before i bring it into my new tank i would like to ask

it is about 2 cm from the apex of the cone to the base....looks like trochus snail...but then the banding on the cone doesnt look like trochus leh..anyone can help id?

I have 5 pieces of this snails. Them came with the LR. They have been in my tank for 1 years. From my personal experience, they are reef safe. They gaze on microalgea when light if off.

Yap this snail is definitely reef safe.. It comes with live rocks and according to my experience, they are hardier than many other types of marine snails..

My tank has a few of them and they come out at night to graze on algae..

But I have trouble keeping other types of snails and would love advise on that..

The snails in my tank is growing so fast that i keep replacing them 2 months once ...

Not too sure about the 2cm part...but Atriel Snails do remain pretty small compared to Tronchos, so possibilities of messy with the rocks and corals and toppling them is lower
