need help.. basically my skimmer pump - AquaBee 2000 - has some problem. it operates intermittently... because of this, i bought a new Aquabee 2000 to replace the pump... thing is ... if i swap out the new pump's impeller with the old pump's impeller... the pump doesn't run.... strange.

from my knowledge of motors.. it runs on a N-S coil... could the impeller have different polarity?.... any advise...

I think the Problem lies with the magnet inside the pump. My old pump , i did experience stoppage of the pump after some coughing sound, and when i open it up, the magnet is bloated and that is the cause..

But why use the old pump when you got a new pump? careful of the ceremic shaft which may break easily if not carefully taken care off.

It's so nice of you getting corals and trying to nurse it back. Its less -seen these days..

With the right water condition and the great mindset, im sure, they will recover back to its pink of health soon..

:)

Thanks bro... still learning alot from the corals... Yes, I'll like to use the new pump.. but somehow the old pump's impeller does work with the new pump. The new pump's impeller are the normal ones. That's y i need to have the old impeller swapped to the new one. any advise?

finally decided to operate on the pump to swap the impeller....

first. i removed the impeller from the older pump... this is easily done by removing the catch on the top. the impeller will slip out nicely...

The new impeller was trickier.. after trying all means to remove the impeller.. i gave up.. instead i heat up a pair of screw driver and melt the impeller so that i can remove it.

Then i swapped the impeller from the old pump to the new one.

unfortunately, the new impeller's shaft was NOT removable unlike the old impellers.. thus, i had no choice but to break the new pump's impellers ceramic shaft. i also replaced the ceramic shaft for the new impeller from the old one... Wish Aquabee could've sold only the "skimmer-type" impeller... anyways.. the job is done and the skimmer runs fine now... maybe I'll operate on the old pump just to find out what causes the intermittent operation...

Thinking of doing something with this mess. This occurs at every water change. The mess is for the water to aerated for 2 days before i use it for topup/water change... Seriously speaking... CFO not very happy.. so i had to do something to this situation... FAST....

My project management experience says that either i manage the client (this means CFO).. or the process (Water change).. hahahah :>

Any bro any idea..

Some requirements:

1. Water reservoir had to be stowed away from the living room.

2. should be able to hold 24 gal of water for 20% water change

3. should ease up the process of water change (ie. single valve to open to replenish fresh water, another valve to release the water into tank)

4. Ability to cycle the water within the reservoir for salt mix.

5. Ability to easy move the reservoir near prop tank to ease up water change.

6. Small foot print as i got space constraint in my laundry area.

any ideas will be appreciated.

Frontal shot of the mess...

Build another cabinet beside tank (the window side) to house the reservoir (higher than your sump so you don't need a pump, just a valve) and chiller(keep it open concept), and pipes from your sump (Drill a hole near lower of your sump where debris usually settle) to the loo.

Run the pipe from your tap to your reservoir for topping up.

Thanks for the suggestion, will bear in mind when i garner enough $$$..

wah cool! Do you have to pay for this service? Have been looking for something like this.

Nope. you do not have to pay for this streaming..

I got a webcam that can pan tilt n zoom.

Currently these can only be done via the built in application.

maybe can ask my phillipine software dev partners to work on web version.. hahhaha :>

So streaming is done via camstreams. basically your computer at home will service the visitors that your stream serves.

Hope this helps..

Now to look for USB extension to make the cam move in the water.. hahaha :> WICKED!!!

cheers..
