Hi,

Currently i'm running a 14gal tank with chiller and skimmer. I'm planning to purchase a automatic top up system so that i can maintain my salinity level.

I noticed even though my water level dropped (less 600ml) my salinity level maintained the same or increase a little only. The wet skimmate is less than 100ml. Why is this so? Water evaporates thus wouldnt the salinity go up??

What should i do for reservoir for the auto top up?

Thanks alot..

salinity will go up but just a little as 600ml is just about 1.2% of ur 14gal tank.

just buy a small container thats able to hide away and get a good topup together with pump.

maybe u want to add trace element addictives to freshwater top up to replenish trace elements lost thru skimming, chemical filtration or coral/fish uptake.

Grotech carries a product thats for that purpose.

happy reefing! :peace:

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
