Feeding the purple firefish

Just got my purple firefish 2days ago. Did some reading up and i believe fishmeat would be fine.

When i fed it very small bits of fishmeat, it wasn't interested in the meat at all. Instead, it started eating things from the water column. But it was going after bubbles from my skimmer. Don't see any organisms in the water which it might be eating. Didn't go after the meat which was flowing around in the water column.

Today, i decided to make the meat finer, it seem to show abit more interest in the sense it mouthed abit of the meat and probably has eaten some of it. It ignored the rest of the meat which flowed past it. Don't think that was enough food if this continues as what it ate was a very small bit of meat.

Any suggestions on what to feed? Brine shrimps or Mysis shrimps? Thinking of doing that if i fail to get it to eat properly by tomorrow. Might try garlic soaked fishmeat later to see if it would work. The other livestock are feeding properly.

Hey think brine shrimp or mysis shrimp will be a much better choice for your purple flame goby

Brine or Mysis Shrimp will indeed be better.... Mine take Marine flake food...

And yeah, firefish tend to be "slower" in catching their food so if u have fast-moving fishes (e.g. clown, damsels)... watch out...

I think it is as fast as the tubeworm

will eat most common fish food... not to worry

just make sure it has place to hide

i feed mine wif BShrimp.they love it.

purple gobies do not eat fish in the wild. Unless you are talking about fish fry.

Just an update..

Managed to get it to eat the fishmeat already. Following my friend's advise i put the food near the powerhead and the fish went after the food which was being pushed by the waterflow of the powerhead.
