Advise on MH pls...

Hi,

I have a 3'x1.5'x2' tank and am currently using PL lights fitted to the cabinet cover. I'm thinking of converting to 150watt MH.

1) Can I put the MH in the hood? How far does it have to be from the water?

2) Can I just change the PL ballast to MH ballast if there is such a thing?

Apologies for my ignorance but advise but really be appreciated.

What material is the hood made from? Hopefully not acrylic....

1) You might have a problem with heat if the hood is fully enclosed.

2)no...PL ballast cannot be changed to mh ballast.

The hood is made of wood. I have a chiller so hopefully heat won't be an issue.

Hi , those that price low are not meant for the actual MH, don't be confused with the 150w low bay MH. For reef 150W MH , you need to pay a different price for

the whole set. Those that you see atthe aquar...are bulb only without any holder.

Anyway currently the 150W MH for quar..are out of stock.
