SRC Member harmony Posted November 11, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted November 11, 2003 Hi, For those of you who are using Orca 25 skimmer, I would like to find out how you position it. There are some vents below the collection cup. Do you position it in such a way that these vents are above or below water level? I can't seem to get good skim-mate. Thanks! blueheaven
Hi Harmony, I am also using ORCA 25 skimmer and I tell u I also had this prob once. Actually, you should put the vents just below the water surface with none of the vents out of water. Remember, just below the surface, dun go too deep down or you will be skimming water. The skimmate will take about 1 or 2 days to appear. Gd luck. Quote But if you tame me, we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. Asfur
Hello harmony, orca is very similar to sander skimmer. So what blueheaven said is true, the vents must be place below water surface, just about 1-2 cm approx below water surface. Also pay attention to your air pump, if it is too strong then it will pump water to your chamber, if it is to slow then the waste will not produce, so i suggest choose an air pump that can be set, and set both the wooden stone and the return pipe part, usually between 1-2 days the foan will produce, but if you have only small fish then the process may take several days
