I heard that PL lighthoods can be fitted with T5s. My lighthood is E-Ballast and for pin. Anyone can help verify. Thanks :yeah:

In what sense? I know that T5 need electronic ballast and my PL is electronic ballast. If need to buy extra equipment, pls tell me what to buy. I new to DIY. :thanks:

hi bro,

must check the watt for ur eballast whether that it can support ur T5. if it is compatable....than its can be reused.........

but its better to purchase a new eballast.

Btw I can afford T5 because my tank cannot support MH. :idea:

As long as your ballast is an E-ballast, it should have no problem driving T5s. A 3ft T5 is 39watts, just make sure your ballast can support the wattage. If yes, all you need is probably getting endcaps, else, you can simply hot wire it in. For me I was plain lazy to hunt for the end caps so I solder the wires in. :D

Hi blueheaven,

U need to buy e ballast (osram brand) that can support T5 tubes..u can get it from sinter at sim lim tower...2x24 w(2ft), 2x39 w (3ft)..price $60

U also need the endcaps..that can fit the 16mm tubes...try sim lim tower or

u can get the Acadia one...or ask Octopuffy where he got his.

U also ned to check whether ur casing can be reused..if not DIY one
