Nerite snails with pretty shells

Hi,

I am selling my big, adult size Nerite snails with pretty shells. Selling at $2 each. Nerite snails eat most type of algae and yet small enough not to topple your rock/ corals. They are reef safe. They are must have clean up crew in marine tanks.

Bro, I know where all these snails are found. They're not suitable for our aquarium. Alot of them do graze on algae but stay out of the water when they feed, where there won't be predators. Your snails look pretty because they have been scrubbed clean. Most of these snails wont be able to right themselves up when they are overturned, they remain so until they are either eaten or rot away in the tank, contributing to more nutrients.

I'm personally looking for trochus snails, they can be found here. IME, Trochus, turban and astrea snails are truly ideal snails for the marine aquaria.... and if you hv so much time in your hands, I'm sure there will be ppl here who'll pay you for trochus, for the right price that is.

No wonder these snails look awfully familar from those I saw in Labrador Park and Pasir Ris beach. Those macroalgae (seaweed) can also be found there as well, in abundance, but I don't think anyone is allowed by the law to remove any living thing from their natural environment.

You think I have so much time like you to scrub clean the snails ?

I scanned through your link and cannot find the carnivores snails.

My Thai snails eat algae and they have cleaned up a life rock of algae. Do carnivores snails do that ?

I do not get the snails form Pasir Ris, Lab or Ubin. What proof do you have that I got the snails from such places ? Show me the proof.

If you are so free to go snails hunting, you can look for trochus snails yourself and sell them. I am not interested....

I have 2 kids to take care of and need to bring one to KKH today. Anyway, I am not as free and rich as you to disturb people's thread when all they do is to earn a few dollars for their kid's medical bills....

2 more points :

1) Ubin have rangers. Do you think people can do collection ????

2) Snails do not normally overturn. Even if they did, I have seen them turning back by themself. You mean you have keep Nerite snails, overturn them on purose and letting them die ?

Are you saying that they are not telling the truth ? Some websites are even manned by Doctors...

It does not matter whether the links are foreign a not cos we are talking about the same animals. For example, whether a tiger is born in Singapore or in Japan, it is still a tiger.You should never limited yourself to Singapore sites when you are doing research. Otherwise, you will never go far.

You kept saying that Nerite snails are no good. Can you show us some Scientific papers or links ?

Hi bro D, I have 12 of your snails and all doing well . Except on one occasion the Nerite snail ventured out of the tank and discovered the next day. So dump back in the tank upside down, in no time it turn back and doing his staff along the edges of my dsb like others.

Overall look of my tank now is superb, worth swoped with my Weipro!

IMO each and every snail have their own characters in captivity like us (in the world) . Some like to venture out of tank. But the other like thai snail like to cleanup edges of rock and dsb, planaxis snails like to graze along the water line and never go out of water in my captivity.

I do keep turbo and turban snails and they even multiply, I dont know why IMO/E i do maintain calcium, strontium and constant supply of zeovite mineral.

Thanks Bro Madmac for your concern. My son has asthma. Not responding well to the treatment but seeing some specialist today. Going KKH later at 3pm +. Hear it is quite expensive but no choice.

My gal was born premature with hole in the heart but better.

The Nerite snails are laying pink eggs too. Hence, I think they are quite ok with me...

got some nerite today and they are great, though i just chanced upon this thread again, i did personally see the snail turn itself upright after i dropped it upside down,, cool snails... though i'm actually hoping to find some mexican turbo snails which will eat my red hair algae (not cyno).. so now trying nerites..

toto, do you have any turbo snails? a friend of mine has upgraded his tank so he needs some turbo snails. I wouldnt recommend any other snails because there were once my turbo snails were eaten by another snail at 6 years ago. So now I only advise on turbo snails.

Thanks for the advise. Will check with the asthma doctor as we will be seeing him 6 weeks later.

The hole in the heart has finally closed but still undergoing review in KKH.

Sorry. I do not have Turbo.

When I went to Iwarna. I saw 1 tank outside with Turbo. However, there was a sign saying export. You can check with them if they are willing to sell.

I also saw some turbo at another Fish farm in Pasir Ris Farmway but I cannot remember the name. Maybe Farmosa. Sorry the spelling maybe wrong.
