terryansimon Posted November 11, 2003 Share Posted November 11, 2003 Hi, me changing to canister filter, just wish to know how should i position those stuff in it, mine got 3 layers, which layer to put bio rings, carbon, etc? in my old freshwater tank, its coarse filter, eheim substrate pro, coarse filter, angel bio rings, fine filter, carbon pad if necessary. from the bottom to the top, because the canister's flow was such that the incoming water went from the bottom and it was pumped out from the top. terryansimon Posted November 11, 2003 Share Posted November 11, 2003 juz add anythin that u think its good 4 ur tank..haha you can't really do that to a certain extent. from what I read, filter placement is important as you would want the detritus to be stucked at the coarse filter first, and that the biorings/substrate pro must be submerged for effectiveness.
