Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of having a refugium ? Thanks.

Hi Bro, you can do a search (it is on the top right corner) and you will find your answer.

For growing Macro Algae to reduce Nitrate and Prosphate, I think.

Thanks. I did a search before posting this thread. However, most of the threads found refer to individual's brothers' tanks in the Members & Tank specs. Then there is a thread on refugium where one brother is using the refugium as a sump.

Hence, I am even more confused and decided to ask to get a clear pic.

Should be the other way.

A refugium can be in the sump, its a place where there's no predatory fishes , thus ya pods, macro algae can be grew in peace.

Purpose refer to wat klim said.
