Polyfilter wool

Anyone tried those polyfilter wool before? seen it in Aquastar in Yishun, $16 per pkt.... it claims to absorb Phos, copper, amonia, Nitrate, nitrate and o lot of other harmful material..... could be reuse if soak in FW (if the filter is use in the SW tank) and vice versa...

Change when absorbed lah. ;)

Good stuff.

But you can't recharge it. It's an absorbent. Once 'full', throw away.

when do you consider it full?

I have used it, wait for it to turn total dark brown?

some LFS owner said to remove it b4 adding addictives...troublesome...is it true?

$16 per packet? That's too expensive already. I bought $33 for 3 in Petm**t.

It is very useful as it can detoxify a contaminated system.

You can read more about it here. There are lab tests conducted on its absorbing capability, effects on trace elements, etc.

I personally see Polyfilter as a emergency measure.

I see.... since there are so many members used it b4 and have such good commend, think don't need to consider already. Petmark selling $33/ 3 pkt... anywhere else selling cheaper?

well needless to say, a certain LFS in the 'EASTest' side of singapore told me that polyfilters trap bacteria too :P
