In Tank Refugium

Hi Guys,

I'm been thinking of setting up a in tank refugium but hardy find any working example for reference.

Does anyone here has such a setup, can share your experience?

I did not choose to have external hang refuge due to the are I placed my tank, it will look ugly.

Refugium?

What you need is a fence up area where water can flow but fish cannot go in.

You can use eggcrate make into a small box or house. This allows pods hiding place from predation.Saw this on the internet url. In-tank refugium.

If you want to keep macro algae, create a box using eggcrate and put you algae there.

In any case, it will definitely look ugle inside or outside the tank.

Unless you have a separate tank under you main tank.

I believe one of our resident craftsman has fashioned a similar contraption called the I-Ref, the hang-on external refugium.

Ya. I'm aware of Ian I-Ref but its hang-on. I also worry that I'llbe stressing my tank glass too much. hee

Then I suppose you don't have much of an option but to fence up a good clump of macroalgae rock as Yazid had suggested. Try to hide it from view whilst giving it enough light for the photosynthesis to continue.
